MJ Neal Associates, Architects PLLC was established in 1986. We are a general services architectural practice, meaning we provide a broad range of services to a diverse list of clients across Washington. In this firm we employ a team concept, which is built on a mutual respect and the free exchange of ideas for the overall success of the project. ABOUT MR. BRISBINE

Mr. Brisbine, a Wenatchee native, worked as an electrician apprentice during summers when he was younger, graduating in 1980 with a Bachelor or Architecture degree. Following graduation, he traveled Europe, worked in a general contractor's office for 2 years, and for DOH Associates Architects for 8 years. 

​

Mr. Brisbine joined MJ Neal Associates in 1990, bringing to the firm his array of diverse design experiences and draws upon his artistic background to add individuality to each project.

​

Mr. Brisbine is engaged in our local community, including involvement in the Wenatchee Exchange Club for 35 years, 15 years  as Community Holy Week worship leader and an elementary school lunch-buddy. He enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking Cascade Mountain high-lakes, photography, landscape oil painting and snow skiing.

Luis Rodriguez

ABOUT MR. RODRIGUEZ

Prior to joining the MJ Neal team, Mr. Rodriguez worked for the WSU Facility Operations Dept. throughout the school year. Mr. Rodriguez gained experience by drafting mechanical and architectural plans for many of the WSU campus buildings.

 

Mr. Rodriguez has amassed a variety of skills and experience in his consistent career of 15+ years with the firm. Starting with smaller projects on a tight budget to now having the responsibility of managing  multiple public jobs simultaneously along with assisting with the firm's management, he takes care of all projects with pride and responsibility . The firm's return clients have come to recognize Luis as a dependable and constant team member that they can rely on to keep their projects moving and understanding of their needs.


Mr. Rodriguez is fluent in Spanish and has had great experience working within the Hispanic Community. During many public projects there is a requirement for public education and community outreach. His bilingual ability along with his communications skills proves to be both helpful and beneficial at these meetings and within our practice. In his free time, Luis enjoys spending time with his family, camping, traveling and working on his own home and cabin remodel projects.

ABOUT MR. BORST

Mr. Borst was born and raised in Wenatchee.  He began his career in architecture with MJ Neal Associates in 2003 and has since owned and operated his own firm, Sigma Architecture, and has also worked for Freimuth Group Architects, Cusick Construction & Development, and The DOH Associates.  Mr. Borst has a broad range of experience in both construction and design, having worked as a laborer and apprentice carpenter during college in addition to his 18 years in architecture.

Mr. Borst spent the first 4 years of his architectural career at MJ Neal Associates, where he developed his initial skills and participated in the design and contract administration of several projects, ranging from private residences to major commercial renovations and public works projects.  He has more than 15 years of experience with Building Information Modeling systems as well as a strong working knowledge of building and design.  He works well with both clients and contractors, ensuring clear communication between both parties and seeks innovative solutions to problems.  Mr. Borst rejoined the firm in 2021 as a licensed architect.

Nik Moushon

ABOUT MR. MOUSHON

Mr. Moushon has spent the majority of his life living in the Midwest. After obtaining his Master’s of Architecture degree from Andrew’s University in Michigan, he worked in architecture and development firms outside of Chicago and Washington D.C. In 2017, he and his wife moved to Wenatchee to be closer to family and continue their careers and expand their knowledge at MJ Neal Associates and to become a licensed architect.

 

Over the last decade he has constantly improved his knowledge and expertise in single and multi-family residential, commercial, mixed-use, and medical facilities. He uses his construction experience to help bridge the gap between the owner and contractor and to help keep the construction administration process as smooth as possible.

 

Nik stays involved with his church and sits as a board member of Cascade Christian Academy. He loves spending time with his wife and two boys hiking, camping, and exploring the PNW.

ABOUT MS. MOUSHON

Born in the Midwest, experienced childhood in the Pacific Northwest, college in Michigan, started married life in Virginia, Ms. Moushon has lived all over the country. She began her career in Virginia for a well-known residential developer where she moved quickly from Intern to Lead Designer. After having her first son the priority to live closer to extended family brought them to Wenatchee, joining MJ Neal Associates summer of 2017.  

 

Through her 10 years of Architectural experience, Ms. Moushon has enjoyed growing her knowledge in different types of Architecture, whether that is a small residential project or a large medical facility, it is always a puzzle with unique pieces she enjoys completing. Her attention to detail is useful during all phases of these projects, from working with the client in organizing their dreams, to drawing up the design for permitting, to transitioning to a smooth construction phase with a happy client in the end.  

 

Ms. Moushon enjoys all that Wenatchee Valley has to offer and loves to explore the outdoors with her husband and growing two boys. She stays involved with her church, kids’ school and sits as Board Chair of Wenatchee Christian Early Learning.

ABOUT MS. GUERRA

Ms. Guerra is fascinated by the design process and partnerships derived from working closely with clients and consultants.  With a background in grant administration and architectural experience, Maria is well versed in program development, team collaboration, budget and project management, and marketing graphics.  She has extensive previous experience with federal grants, budgeting, managing and implementing programs to support low-income, first generation students in post-secondary education opportunities.. At MJ Neal Associates, she builds upon those skills and has become an integral asset to the firm.   

​

As an advocate for our youth and their futures, she volunteers with the Washington Apple Education Foundation scholarship/mentor and career programs, Apple STEM Network leadership team, career connected learning programs, and St. Joseph Catholic School SAC (School Advisory Council.)  

​

In her free time, Maria enjoys gardening, traveling and exploring the outdoors, but above all spending time with her family.

ABOUT MS. PRINSLOO

Prior to joining the MJ Neal Associates team,  Miss Prinsloo began her architectural career in New Zealand where she worked at the New Zealand Historical Association helping to protect & preserve historical structures. She helped her faculty and fellow students in the University IT department and provided them with their presentation prints. In New Zealand she did extensive work with local builders & architects in residential and commercial building permits including remodels and remedial work for schools. In 2014 she moved to Washington with her family and started working in the Redmond-Bellevue architectural scene. Over the past 9 years Dorette
has gained experience in working on warehouses, remodels across the country, local not-for-profit facilities, Bear custom residential homes & remodels, and much more, proving her across-the-board skills and abilities to learn and adapt in her field.

 

Miss Prinsloo grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, until she was 13 years old. She then migrated to New Zealand where she completed her degrees and worked in architecture from 2006-2014. She moved to the beautiful Evergreen State in 2014. She enjoys spending time with her three children, doing outdoor activities, painting, and finding ways to give back to the community.

Heracleo Esquivel

ABOUT MR. ESQUIVEL

Mr. Esquivel graduated from WA State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies. He later joined the MJ Neal Associates team in 2015, bringing his technical abilities in AutoCAD and Revit as drafting support on multiple projects within the firm.

 

Mr. Esquivel works hard to grow and develop a solid design and production skillset that he continues to draw from through his ongoing project experience.  He also brings a great work ethic and eagerness to learn, which allows for an ideal learning environment for him to increase his knowledge and skills in the Architectural field.

 

A long-term resident of Brewster, WA, Mr. Esquivel has worked with high school students, both in his hometown and in other areas. In his spare time, he enjoys running and cycling. He has also competed in several 5k races.

OMAR HERNANDEZ

ABOUT MR. HERNANDEZ

Mr. Hernandez was born and raised in  the Wenatchee Valley before moving to Seattle to continue his education where he spent nearly 10 years. Between schooling and summer work he grew quite fascinated with the idea of sustainable architecture, especially through new design technologies and research. He has always been fascinated with the idea of how you can take a thought and literally turn in into an architectural design.  Mr. Hernandez is a  firm believer that a great design is the product of a collaborative team combined with passion, innovation, and values, which transform a project into a genuine piece of architecture, responding to the needs and wants of our community.  As a first-generation student. he has seen the impact architecture has on communities first-hand.

 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hernandez gained experience in both landscape and architectural fields in full time and summer internship capacities. Having worked in Seattle-based offices like Mithun Inc.  and ARC Architects, Mr. Hernandez brings strong graphic design, technical abilities and work ethic to the team, and above all a hunger to always try new things and look for ways to improve on his skillsets, whether that be small residential projects or any other type of architecture, never shying away from a challenge at this early stage in his career. 

 

In his free time  Mr. Hernandez enjoys playing the acoustic guitar, soccer, working out, hiking and being around friends and family.

ANAHI RAMOS

ABOUT MS. RAMOS

Ms. Ramos was born & raised in Wenatchee. She is a first-generation college student who is pursuing an architectural studies degree at Washington State University. Ms. Ramos is currently working as a summer intern at MJ Neal Associates to obtain more expertise in the profession. She brings her technical abilities in drafting within Revit, hand drafting, and Photoshop skills to the firm. From a young age, Ms. Ramos has had a passion for the world of architecture. She has always been attracted by the notion of a building coming to life from a sketch and drafting plans..

 

On campus, Ms. Ramos is actively involved in Virtual Design & Construction as the social media chair, where, along with the other officers, she aims to bring resources through workshops for those in the construction & design fields. She was a member of a team that worked on the Pullman Bus Stop Enhancement Project, designing creative bus stops on a budget while also finding creative methods to incorporate local materials into the bus stop designs. She is also an active participant in Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanx de Aztlán (MEChA); during her sophomore year she served as the chair of public relations. Ms. Ramos hopes to pursue her love of architecture by working in the design & construction industry for an architecture firm after graduation.

ABOUT MR. BAKER

Mr. Baker is a 26 year Retired Air Force Veteran, where he worked in Aircrew Life Support.  For his last assignment, he worked as a Test Director of emerging technologies at the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluations Center.  

 

After retiring, he decided to change careers and move into Drafting and Design Technologies.  He graduated from ITT at the top of his class and was asked to return as an Adjunct Instructor before moving to Wenatchee to join the MJ Neal Associates Team where he is a drafting technician and our resident expert in photometrics.

 

In his spare time, Mr. Baker enjoys game design as a hobby, specializing in 3D virtual environments.

ABOUT MS. FIELD

Ms. Field graduated from Wenatchee Valley College in 2005 where she earned her Associate’s Degree in Business Information Technology, certificates in Word Processing and Accounting and studied graphic design. 

 

In addition to her role as Office Manager, Ms. Field handles many other tasks within the firm. Being versatile in her position, she has gained experience in many areas such as marketing, accounting, specification and contract editing, and computers & software, to name a few. Her useful design skills have allowed her to apply her talents to projects requiring graphic design, materials selection and color boards. It has also allowed her to handle any marketing, graphic and web design needs internally within the firm.

 

Ms. Field recently moved to the mountains of North Idaho where she continues to work for the firm remotely from her family's 11-acre farm. In her free time, Ms.  Field enjoys making improvements to their home and property, raising beef, chickens, dahlias and produce, and spending time outdoors with her husband, two sons and their dogs. She is also a reputable AKC English Bulldog breeder and is very passionate about raising puppies and her life as a dog mom.

ABOUT MS. DYER

Ms. Dyer has been working as a freelance artist since 2005 and attended art school with a focus on Media Arts, Animation, and 3D Design. Additionally, she has spent the last several years in leadership positions with local businesses, strengthening her customer service and office skills and allowing her to share her outgoing, sunny personality with customers on a daily basis. With a passion for all things creative, she is excited to be working alongside the architects and designers at MJ Neal as an Administrative Assistant, bringing her strong customer service, administrative and art skills to the firm to support our staff, building tenants and clients in any way she can. 

 

Ms.Dyer grew up in Park CIty, Utah and moved to Wenatchee in 2004. In her free time, she enjoys teaching cycling classes, mountain biking, trail running, skiing, snowboarding, painting, drawing, and hanging out with her family and her fluffy white dog.
